Our Niche

A Turnkey Wildfire Risk Contractor — Not Three Separate Vendors

Our purpose is simple: protect life, property, and landscapes from wildfire through proactive stewardship and integrated home hardening.

Most homeowners end up juggling a tree-thinning crew, a construction contractor, and a landscaper — with no one accountable for the whole picture. Defensible Property Systems combines forestry, carpentry, and home hardening into a single, standards-based scope aligned with Home Ignition Zone (HIZ), state, and county wildfire guidelines.

1

True Turnkey Execution

Forestry, carpentry, and home hardening — one contract, one crew, one point of accountability.

2

Standards-Based Approach

Every project aligned with Home Ignition Zone, state, and county wildfire mitigation guidelines.

3

Systemized, Phased Protection

A clear roadmap that tackles your highest risk first, building toward full defensible property.

We Assess and Treat Every Zone Around Your Home

Wildfire mitigation follows the nationally recognized Home Ignition Zone framework — concentric zones of defensible space radiating out from your structure. We evaluate and treat all four before we call a property protected.

Zone 0 · 0–5 ft
Zone 1 · 5–30 ft
Zone 2 · 30–100 ft
Zone 3 · 100–200 ft

Approximate zones illustrated on an actual Defensible Property Systems project.

0Immediate
0–5 ft from structure

Zone 0 — Non-Combustible Zone

The most critical five feet. We convert this zone to non-combustible material, seal soffits and eaves, and install ember-resistant vents so wind-blown embers can't find fuel at your foundation.

1Intermediate
5–30 ft from structure

Zone 1 — Defensible Space

Lean, clean, and green. We space and reduce vegetation, remove ladder fuels, and clear decks, fences, and rooflines of ignition points.

2Extended
30–100 ft from structure

Zone 2 — Reduced Fuel Zone

Strategic thinning that breaks up continuous fuel and slows fire spread before it ever reaches your home.

3Perimeter
100–200 ft from structure

Zone 3 — Forest Health Zone

Broader fuel reduction and forest thinning across the outer perimeter — protecting the landscape, not just the structure.
